Ningbo Beishan Port Area of Zhoushan Port will be transformed into a special berth for 10W tonnage containers

Recently, the preliminary design of the general berth reconstruction project of Beilun Port Area of Zhoushan Port in Ningbo passed the review. The review was jointly organized by the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transportation.

The general berth is located between the Beilun NBCT container terminal and the ore transit terminal. The renovation project will transform the original 50,000-ton general berth into a special berth of 100,000-ton container. The length of the rebuilt wharf will be 383.4m, and the reconstructed land area will be about 36.8. Million m2. The annual design passing capacity of the terminal is 636,000 TEU, the annual design passing capacity of the container yard is 817,000 TEU, the railway design passing capacity is 432,000 TEU, and the total investment of the project is about 1.11 billion yuan.

The construction of the project has greatly enhanced the intensive use of the port coastline in Beilun Port Area. It is an important supplementary carrier for the scale of container operation area in Beilun Port Area. It also promotes the construction of container sea-rail combined transport in the region and builds Zhejiang Ocean. The economic development demonstration zone and the national strategy of “One Belt, One Road” are of great significance.
